룻 2:17-23

¹⁷ So she gleaned in the field until evening. Then she beat out what she had gleaned, and it was about an ephah² of barley. 18 And she took it up and went into the city. Her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned. She also brought out and gave her what food she had left over ^fafter being satisfied. 19 And her mother-in-law said to her, “Where did you glean today? And where have you worked? Blessed be the man ^gwho took notice of you.” So she told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked and said, “The man’s name with whom I worked today is Boaz.” 20 And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, ^h“May he be blessed by the Lord, whose kindness has not forsaken ⁱthe living or the dead!” Naomi also said to her, “The man is a close relative of ours, one of ^jour redeemers.” 21 And Ruth the Moabite said, “Besides, he said to me, ‘You shall keep close by my young men until they have finished all my harvest.’ ” 22 And Naomi said to Ruth, her daughter-in-law, “It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, lest in another field you be assaulted.” 23 So she kept close to the young women of Boaz, gleaning until the end of the barley and wheat harvests. And she lived with her mother-in-law.

17절) 저녁 늦게까지 일하고 주운것을 떠니 한에바의 보리를 얻게 되었다. 에바는 22리터로(5.5갤런) 이 두여인의 2주간의 음식이 될 정도로 많은 양이었다. 룻의 성실함과 보아스의 배려로 이렇게 많은 수확을 얻게 된 것이다.

- 룻이 곡식을 떠는 곳이 어디였을까? 아마도 관대한 보아스가 그의 곡식 떠는 마당을 빌려주지 않았을까? 여기에 사용된 동일한 동사가 '사사기 6:11'에 등장한다. 기드온의 타작마당

19절) 나오미는 두번을 반복하며 오늘 어디서 이삭을 주웠는지를 묻는다. 그리고 룻이 대답하기도 전에 그를 축복한다(이 축복의 표현은 왕상 10:9, 대하 9:8, 잠 5:18을 참고). 그리고 이에 대한 룻의 대답은 어디에서가 아니라 누구에게서 일했는지로 바뀐다.  의도적인 전환

20절) 다시한번 보아스를 축복하는 나오미(창 24:27 참조), 산자와 죽은자에게 은혜 베풀기를 그치지 않는 보아스(헤세드)

to abandon hesed -> to demonstrate hesed,

- 이전에 룻에게 모압의 가족들에게 돌아가서 재가하라고 했던 나오미는 이렇게 보아스의 이야기를 들으면서 하나님의 헤세드를 느꼈을 것이다. 그녀는 보아스를 우리와 아주 가까운 친족이고 기업 무를자 중의 하나라고 말했다. 이렇게 말하면서 그녀의 머리속에 전광석화처럼 룻을 보아스에게 결혼시킬 생각이 지나가지 않았을까? 

- 본문에 나오는 redeem(구속하다)은 매우 중요한 단어이다.

첫번째 이 단어는 “pada”로 장자의 구속(출 13:13-15), 양이나 돈(민 18:15-17, 레 27)으로 되사는 것을 의미한다. 

둘째 “gaal”, “goel”은 친족의 어려움을 되갚는 의미로 많이 사용된다. 1) 가문의 세습되는 재산(레 25:25-30), 2) 가난때문에 팔린 친족을 자유롭게 함(레 25:47-44), 3) 가까운 친족을 죽인 살인자에 보복을 가함(민 35:12, 19-27), 4) 범죄의 피해로 죽은 친족을 대신하여 손해배상을 받음(민 5:8), 5) 소송중인 친족이 정의롭게 재판을 받을수 있도록 함(욥 19:25, 시 119:154, 렘 50:34)

- 여기서나오는 형사취수의 전통은 신 25:5-10에서 유래한다. 형제중의 하나가 자녀가 없이 죽었을때 남은 형제중의 하나가 죽은 자의 아내를 취하게 되고 그를 통해 태어난 첫아들를 통해 죽은 형제의 이름을 잇게 한다. 만약 이를 이행하지않을때 장로들 앞에서 자신의 신발을 벗고 침을 뱉음을 당해 수치를 당해야 한다.

- 결국 보아스는 기업무를자로서의 자신의 책임을 수행하게 된다.

22절) 룻의안전을 걱정하는 나오미, 그래서 룻으로 하여금 소녀들과 함께 하고 다른 남자들을 조심할 것을 당부한다.   

Apparently Naomi had been worried about Ruth as she sent her out of the house in the morning and she would have been relieved to see her return safe and sound. The danger she fears, presumably from male workers in the field, is expressed with pāgaʿ. Elsewhere the verb means “to meet, encounter, attack.” In 1:16 it had been used of “to pressure, compel.” But coming after the conversations in vv. 8–16, the reader may interpret it as a catchall for nāgaʿ, “to touch, harass,” in v. 9, hiklîm, “to shame, embarrass,” in v. 15, and gāʿar, “to rebuke, insult,” in v. 16.

23절) 룻은 시어머니의 당부를 받아들이고 소녀들과 가까이 하며 보리와 밀 추수를 마치기까지 함께 하였다. 보통 보리추수 시기가 4월이므로 4월말에서 6월초까지의 기간일 것으로 추정된다.
